3rd Generation Conversion

Riders appreciate the benefits of both full-faced and open helmets, but convertible or “modular” offerings, though popular, are heavily compromised on safety, weight, aerodynamics and noise. Our patented 3rd Gen conversion system removed key constraints, achieving the best of both worlds. There is no longer a need to choose.

Open-face

A full-length visor means improved face protection over existing flip-back designs, with a more open face, better center of mass and clean aero profile.

Full-face

The closed jaw and visor align with the aerodynamics of the shell as smoothly as a full-face helmet. The chin guard is structurally integrated.

Neck shroud

Increased clearance allows for full neck cover, insulating the rider from turbulence and noise when the helmet is closed, and stowing discreetly when open.

Bar-end lock

Where have you been my whole life? Nowhere, actually. This is new. Secure and discreet, no strap to be cut, no bulky box. The helmet tucks in towards the motorcycle, avoiding bumps, and remains upright in the rain. Adjustable for different handlebar configurations.

Rotation

Rotational impact, where brain shears against skull, accounts for almost 2/3rds of serious head injury in crashes. Serious attempts to mitigate this are surprisingly hard to find.

> 90% of Helmets

Most helmet manufacturers focus only on direct impact – that’s where the regulations have been – and neglect entirely the tougher, as-important problem of rotation.

Slip System

When shearing is addressed at all, it is usually by adding a slip-plane inside the EPS, but this only works until our square heads lock mechanically with the square helmet.

Suspended System

Dual-EPS, spring-mounted ball-and-socket solutions exist, but leave a gap, and a softly sprung impact layer better suited to light bumps than highway-speed impacts. This is why these are most often seen in motocross.

Best of both

Oshana’s configuration combines “slip” and “sprung” systems, allowing rotation along X, Y and Z axis without empty space compromising direct impact. Instead of rubber mountings which stretch for linear resistance, we set the inner EPS in compressive polyurethane, which resists asymptotically as the rotation limit is reached, avoiding a jarring mechanical lock. Like a running shoe.

Light

In cars, adaptive headlights reduce insurance claims by 15%. For motorcyclists, avoiding accidents is far more important.

Solar

Charged by the sun, since you can leave it on the bike, else by USB if necessary. Works as a power bank to charge your devices or jump-start vehicles.

Connectivity

Control your phone as a blue tooth headset for music and navigation, as headlight, or even as a camera, on the handlebars without lifting your hands.

Sensitivity

Detect and report a crash, get immediate impact data and analysis to assist diagnosis and treatment.
